IoT Dudley
You must hold a minimum of 48 UCAS Tariff points from the one of the following qualifications
• BTEC National (Diploma or Extended Diploma) in a relevant subject
• GCE A and AS Levels with at least one subject at A Level
Plus
• GCSE English and Maths – grade C / 4 or above
Applicants will be invited to an interview where they will be required to discuss their background and areas of interest.
The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher Technical Diploma in Computing Network Engineering specialism offers students a broad introduction to the subject area via a mandatory and optional unit. This allows for the acquisition of skills and experience across a range of occupational sectors at Level 5.
The college offers 2 pathways Computing Technology and Computing Network Engineering.
The Computing Network Engineering pathway allows the candidate to explore the specialism and particular skillset and knowledge necessary to understand the complexities of computer networks, vital to the modern digital economy, without which, our current way of life would simply stop.
From the outset, you will be developing your detailed understanding of a range of aspects of the Digital/Computing world. Most importantly, you will be developing an understanding of how different elements of computing interact and depend upon each other, thereby broadening you overall view and understanding of computing, whilst gaining more detailed knowledge of specific channels within the topic. The Network Engineering pathway will include extensive practical deployment of laboratory based local, cloud and mobile networks, including complex hybrid models where suitable, all at Level 5 for the Higher National Diploma (HND).
Wherever possible, the concepts and theories explored in the course are underpinned by practical exercise, experiment and R&D (conducted in our brand new, state of the art IoT Laboratory), all with sharp focus on where the industry is, and where it may be heading. This course will teach you the what, the how and the why of computer networking.
