There is a blended delivery which will include MS Teams sessions, practical sessions which will be delivered from our Institute of Technology.
Candidates for the Diploma must have a Level 3 Diploma in a relevant subject area such as a Level 3 Diploma in Medical Equipment Technology, an A-Level in Mathematics and GCSEs in English and Science. Equivalent qualifications will be considered, as will substantial relevant experience in the field of medical engineering.
Learners must have GCSE grade A-C in English and maths or Level 2 Functional Skills equivilant.
Learners must be aged 18 or over, and be working in a medical engineering role.
This qualification supports learners to develop existing engineering skills whilst simultaneously developing new areas of expertise and knowledge applicable to the medical equipment technologies sector.
The Level 5 Diploma in Medical Equipment Technologies is a higher level qualification intended for people employed full time. It runs for a duration of 24 months which makes this a part-time course. The course starts in year 1 with a level 4 Certificate as a stand-alone option, with progression to the second-year Diploma in Medical Equipment Technologies.

Human Anatomy and Physiology
Managing Medical Equipment
Mathematical Principles for Engineers
Mechanical Engineering Science for Medical Engineers
Medical Engineering Project
Patient Monitoring, Therapeutic and Frequency Dependent Equipment
Optional Group A Title
Anaesthetic and Operating Theatre Equipment
Medical Imaging Equipment
You can then progress onto a Higher level apprenticeship or university degree qualification.
